Supersize

Watching Supersize Me really showed me how much of a problem our country has. Although it was truly disgusting, Morgan actually showed a diet that is somewhat common amongst the United States population. There are some people out there that cannot afford expensive healthy meals and the only thing they can afford is the dollar menu from McDonald's. To try and shrink the obesity problem that our country has, I believe it is necessary to start providing less expensive healthy meals for consumers. A great point that Morgan brought up in the documentary is the difference in the amount of money fast food companies spend on advertising versus the amount that healthy food related companies spend. I think a key role in the fight against obesity is that they healthy concerned companies start to get their brand out there and let the people know that they should be trying their products. Hopefully the people that watch documentaries like Supersize Me will actually gain knowledge and realize that it is not okay to treat your body like that.

  1. Zach, you bring up a very good point. Healthy food companies do need to make their food more readily available to those who cannot afford much. Although there are places that offer food to the homeless it doesn't exactly offer it to those who have little money. Although it is hard now to grow vegetables and what not because of industrialized farming the government can help the situation. So, I do agree with you Zach; health of America is something we all need to worry about and watching someone experiment that lifestyle is a sad thing to see.

  2. I agree with you Zach that there should be cheaper meals that are healthier for you than all the cheap unhealthy stuff that tons of people have been putting into there bodies. I think advertising healthier options should be way higher than fast food places because it shows a better lifestyle for everyone and eating healthy can only help you not hurt you. If Morgan ate three green meals a day that would benefit him a ton rather than all the negative responses his body had with McDonalds.
